Psalm 23 |
1 |
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall
not want. |
His worthy Psalm: Ah! thrill to
need's end. |
2 |
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters. |
God help! Tired, I meet Him there at last, in
the lush meadows between serene lakes. |
3 |
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths
of righteousness for his name's sake. |
He refresheth my spirit: so I shun lust, go
ahead as son, meek on the heels of the Master. |
4 |
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy
rod and thy staff they comfort me. |
Oh my! A halo of death! Go thou forth to safety,
with healthy, unwavering faith; amidst the very wicked hell of
the fury of the mortal world. |
5 |
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence
of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth
over. |
O at peace in the Lord! If he remembers to rain
immense bounty upon me, then arch-foes without seethe in perpetual
envy. |
6 |
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all
the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever. |
A delightful holy life, far from Hell, follows
marvellous, well-endowed, charmed earthly odyssey. Eons on end,
it is! |
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
(the text adapted by Pete Seeger to create the song "There
is a Season") |
1 |
To every thing there is a season,
and a time to every purpose under the heaven: |
O note: men have heterogenous petty
paths, they're due varied anniversaries: |
2 |
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time
to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; |
Anticipate birth; alone at deathbed appointment;
till mud; sow in the mud; pick a tomato; eat. |
3 |
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to
break down, and a time to build up; |
Hit one bad bloke; treat ill maimed man; undo
it; we'd make it a total utopia. |
4 |
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time
to mourn, and a time to dance; |
A lament; a comedian; a down mood? out! I hate
it! A merengue? attempt it! |
5 |
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather
stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from
embracing; |
If throwing gems, better amass them; accomodate
a rotten associate; be angry at a mate or remote to an intimate
friend. |
6 |
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to
keep, and a time to cast away; |
Make a wad; I eat it, a total estate gone; I'm
compensated; my! ate it too! |
7 |
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to
keep silence, and a time to speak; |
Take it apart; make a seam i.e. mend it; Now
it's complete, i.e. done. Note dates. |
8 |
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of
war, and a time of peace. |
A man of action, of ire, meet a diplomat? Two
have tea, eat, mediate. |
Psalm 150 |
1 |
Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in
his sanctuary:
praise him in the firmament of his power. |
Here is a sure thesis: God is holy,
fair.
Man? An impotent piece of dirt; prayer wins him harp. |
2 |
Praise him for his mighty acts:
praise him according to his excellent greatness. |
Get on same page Christ is (no misprints!)
Exert cherished faith. Acclaim his glory. |
3 |
Praise him with the sound of the trumpet:
praise him with the psaltery and harp. |
Frumpish? Hit it, mister! One and a two! (prepare)
He hath this happy truth! We'd smile! |
4 |
Praise him with the timbrel and dance:
praise him with stringed instruments and organs. |
She rests with this arm in that arm (embed sister
in pew?)
I'd delight in prancing around, man! |
5 |
Praise him upon the loud cymbals:
praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. |
Hush? Pump up the cool noise my Lord hears
by banging metal dish, hip musician. |
6 |
Let every thing that hath breath praise the
LORD.
Praise ye the LORD. |
Thy drab trial? God helpeth.
Let prayer arise thither to the Heavens. |
