Psalm 136, in which every verse ends with the same refrain. This is mirrored in the anagram. |

1 |
O give thanks unto the LORD; for
he is good: |
Thou Heavenly kind of God! God is
error-free truths: |
2 |
O give thanks unto the God of gods: |
Thou devout throng, go defy darkness, grief: |
3 |
O give thanks to the Lord of lords: |
Friends, let's look further very hard, to God: |
4 |
To him who alone doeth great wonders: |
Would God, the serene father, admit error? Why
no! |
5 |
To him that by wisdom made the heavens: |
My Adam of the dry dust here with Eve, the man's
rib: |
6 |
To him that stretched out the earth above the
waters: |
Trust Father's creative breath; He'd dry out
that wet home there: |
7 |
To him that made great lights: |
Further, ere that mighty star did gleam: |
8 |
The sun to rule by day: |
Dry, burned earthly future? Yes: |
9 |
The moon and stars to rule by night: |
Then send aurora light of burnt-red mystery: |
10 |
To him that smote Egypt in their firstborn: |
Pretty grim time; boys' fathers in hurt; I red
the front: |
11 |
And brought out Israel from among them: |
Rue drab earth, from grim Goshen to my future
land: |
12 |
With a strong hand, and with a stretched out
arm: |
And thus hear a fate: that dirty murdering wretch
drowns: |
13 |
To him which divided the Red sea into parts: |
He hath dispersed rifted water; he rid mud in
victory: |
14 |
And made Israel to pass through the midst of
it: |
The Red sea? If emigrants trust, it's dry! Old
Pharoah fumed: |
15 |
But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red
sea: |
Hurry, run whip-driven horses to a death bath;
he rested fear: |
16 |
To him which led his people through the wilderness: |
He sure coddleth the pilgrims, huh, with sheer
friendly power: |
17 |
To him which smote great kings: |
Wreck the mighty gathered uniforms, sir: |
18 |
And slew famous kings: |
Suddenly arms wreak suffering: |
19 |
Sihon king of the Amorites: |
The ruin of rearmed Og? Thy fire sinks: |
20 |
And Og the king of Bashan: |
If nuked by Father, darn ogre hangs: |
21 |
And gave their land for an heritage: |
He gardeneth a very far-flung raided terrain: |
22 |
Even an heritage unto Israel his servant: |
Ah! a lush terrain is very verdant; refugees
enter in: |
23 |
Who remembered us in our low estate: |
If we were lame, surrounded by terror, he met
us: |
24 |
And hath redeemed us from our enemies: |
Ardent free men, hurry, he did measure us freedom: |
25 |
Who giveth food to all flesh: |
Oh Lord, the giver who really fed stuff: |
26 |
O give thanks unto the God of heaven: |
Have a fond hug for the trusted King, everyone: |
