Both the Forum and the voting were a bit quiet in March. I have decided to stop agonising over the declining number of voters. |
This was the only close category this month and the winner could have been anyone of the top six place-getters. |
1 | Paul Pan | 32 | Heel claims ~ me, Achilles. |
2 | Zoran Radisavlevic | 30 | Computer viruses = Must revise our PC! |
3 | Mey Kraus | 28 | A cure for bald males = A dream for cue-balls. |
4 | Rick | 27 | Antiperspirant deodorant = Ad ran: "No pit stain reported." |
4 | aussie battler | 27 | An interest ~ entertains. |
Mey was eight points clear by the 12 hour mark and never looked in doubt. He extended his margin to a comfortable 13 points by the end of the competition. |
1 | Mey Kraus | 51 | 'On the Origin of Species' by author Charles Darwin = Big theory which infers our ancestor is an old ape. |
2 | Scott Gardner | 38 | Venus de Milo (Aphrodite of Melos) = Model of maid poses in the Louvre. |
3 | View | 27 | 'The Simpsons' cartoons = Spastic Homer, snot son... |
David had an entry in every category this month and they were all of good quality, too. |
1 | David Bourke | 45 | Gary Glitter gets three years in a Vietnamese prison = "I try some very tight pre-teenage Eastern Asian girls!" |
2 | Mey Kraus | 36 | Media report on avian flu cases = Paranoid tales of virus menace. |
3 | Zoran Radisavlevic | 34 | Milosevic's funeral = Fine. All is over, scum! |
Another strong win here for Mey who took the lead late on Day One after I led briefly at the 12 hour mark. He powered on to win by 16 points. |
1 | Mey Kraus | 51 | The former president Slobodan Milosevic = Don't sob over him, after prison-cell demise. |
2 | Rick | 35 | Maureen Stapleton = A supreme talent, no? |
3 | Megan R | 27 | Ahmadinejad = A damn Jehadi. |
Mey picked up the "Name Double" with another comfortable win here. He led from the start coming home 17 points ahead, the largest margin of the competition. |
1 | Mey Kraus | 51 | Microsoft Help and Support Website = Stupid patch! Problem is often worse! |
2 | Tony Crafter | 34 | The Labour Party Prime Minister = I'm that super Premier Tony Blair! |
3 | View | 27 | CIA man = Maniac. |
Only four competitors started here. It was the shortest anagram that won. |
1 | David Bourke | 60 | President Slobodan Milosevic, "The Butcher of the Balkans" = |
2 | Mey Kraus | 45 | America is a large, friendly dog in a very small room. Every time it wags its tail, it knocks over a chair. (Arnold Toynbee) = |
3 | Larry Brash | 41 | I sent the club a wire stating, PLEASE ACCEPT MY RESIGNATION. I DON'T WANT TO BELONG TO ANY CLUB THAT WILL ACCEPT ME AS A MEMBER. = |
Another start-to-finish win for Mey, with Tony in second all the way, miles ahead of the rest of the field. |
1 | Mey Kraus | 64 | Let's quickly survey all of the 78th Aca... = But never mind these... Time to see wh... |
2 | Tony Crafter | 53 | The kids were lined up for lunch in the... = A teacher was observing the children ... |
3 | David Bourke | 22 | George W. Bush: "America is a friend t... = "The post-Nine-Eleven terrorism threa... |
David looked like the winner half way through Day One. The question was who would get the second place award, as there were only going to be two awards given this month, because of the fact there were only four entrants, |
1 | David Bourke | 50 | New Woman's 100 Sexiest Men in the World 2006 |
2 | Mey Kraus | 45 | Poisoning Pigeons In The Park Tom Lehrer |
3 | Tony Crafter | 37 | Dear Mr Viddik |
4 | View | 24 | You are my destiny |
What a month for Mey! |
1 | Mey Kraus | 46 | The nudist community = I must not hide my cunt! |
2 | Tony Crafter | 32 | Under each Scotsman's kilt ~ the clan's scrotum is naked! |
3 | Rick | 28 | Oral stimulation of the clitoris = Lo! A lot of irritation 'til she cums. |
Looking at how close General was this month, you may be forgiven for thinking that the winner of this award would come from there. However, the anagrams that I really liked was Scott's runner-up in Entertainment. I would like to also give special mention to Tony's third place-getter in Special which I also strongly considered for this award.
This was Scott's 22nd award. |
Congratulations to all the winners. Thank you all for voting.
