Your comment is one "h" short of being warranted: Sadali wrote "noting" not "nothing" :)

Actually, Walt is an old friend of mine from alt.anagrams, but he really should not stop taking his tablets ;-)

Okay, after re-assessment, you'll soon see that mischievous David Bourke or Mick Tully (or was it me?) took this wishy-washy verse (see http://www.leuf.net/ww/wikidn?SpellingChequer) then immediately engineered it, appropriately enough, into a creative-free piece: an eerie impersonation of wearisome Walter-type quotes - sorry! Waatlre-tyye qoeutse - (who, anyway, might yet emerge as - yes! - the esteemed Richard Grantham). Either way, it's a rare reverse anagram.

Come now, would I do a thing like that? ;)
And it took more than a quick glance at the posting details for the thread to see what's going on here. It's more cunning than it first looks.

Cunning Indeed!

As the co-originator of this thread (along with Sadali) I have been following it along with each post (and rather amused that there have been so many posts for so dull an original topic). So I was QUITE suspiscious when I read the so-called brilliant anagram of "walter's" post. Quite a scheme to have posted it alone once before the anagrammed-poem version. I *applaud* whoever actually conjured all this up (RG?), maybe we need a new NOM category for 'best forum hijinks.'

My question is how did this come about, and is even the original walter post of the mistaken "thanks for nothing" real? As a relative newbie, I almost wonder if there really is a "walter." :) Apologies to Walter if there indeed is.

Yup, I agree with you Jesse.
It seems that a simple mistake on my side turns out to be a long thread of posts. But Walter ... who is he actually? No doubt, the poem is hilarious enough.

Am waiting to hear more from him though.
Meanwhile, thumbs up for the excellent poem...*SPECIAL NOM*

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

New Auto-Nomination Page -- Larry Brash, 22:29:28 12/11/02 Wed

I have finished and tested the new auto-NOM page.

I have have designed it to accessed in two ways, that use one script, but each looks and behaves a bit differently.

Access Method #1
If you go directly to:
../cgi-bin/nomination.pl

You will see the nominations displayed like the Current NOMs Page. You will also notice that the nominator and the results of the anagram check (Pass/Fail) will also be shown.

Access Method #2
You start at:
../nomination.html

and enter nominations from there. You will notice that there are couple of extra things visible entering the page this way.

Please test it out and let me know if you encounter any problems.

Also let me know if you think the person responsible for adding NOMs should be the author or the nominator.

Thanks

Larry
