- Awardsmaster's Choice Award for Best Rookie Anagrammatist:
Not awarded this year. - Awardsmaster's Choice Award for Most Improved Anagrammatists:
I feel the need to award this jointly:
Josiah Winslow came back after three dry years and won five awards. After a somewhat inauspicious reintroduction to the competition, Josiah has dabbled with some impressive techniques including shaped specials and has also been an invaluable asset since I took over as awardsmaster, doing the bulk of the oldie checking and some archiving work.
Jason Lofts with 11 wins and 3 grands (the fabled name double and this one as well) and one of only 2 people to show year on year improvement with rising totals of awards for three years consecutively.
- Mick Tully Memorial Award for Most Consistent Anagrammatist:
A really tough call. Ellie and Jason have both had a great year with 11 wins and 2 grands in the competition apiece but David Bourke with 443.80 points and 13 wins in the monthly Anagrammy Awards had first place in seven individual categories including special and won at least one award in eight of the ten months with competitions - the highest of anyone except TC. He has also moved into third place in the overall table of winners above the legendary Richard Grantham - Daniel F. Etter Memorial Award for Anagrammatist of the Year:
Tony Crafter with 727.90 DFE points, 25 wins in the monthly Anagrammy Awards, and 2 wins in the Grand Anagrammy Awards. TC delivers time and again and tends to be get a full house practically every month! - Special Awards for Services to the Anagrammy Awards:
Larry Brash - without a doubt the Father of the Forum and with eighteen years in the hot seat as Awardsmaster, it is my honour and privilege to bestow upon you this occasional extra award. Larry also won the best short overall Grand award and three monthly awards. We hope to see many more contributions from him in the months and years to come.
Rosie Perera - quite simply, without Rosie, we would not have an awards forum. Hats off to the time, money and effort she has given over to restoring our ownership of this site and we owe her a debt of gratitude. Rosie was really unlucky not to win in ON category, being pipped at the last by a single point.
Note - It would be harsh not to congratulate Meyran Kraus on his fleeting return. Six awards in a single month and 5 grands. Unbelievable. And many thanks for the advice over the last few months on oldie checking techniques.
